CMU School of Drama (Acting) Auditions (2019-2020!)

Hi! I was wondering, does anyone who has auditioned for Carnegie Mellon (and gotten in?) for acting (not MT) have any tips/advice/suggestions for acting auditions?

Specifically, monologue decisions. I’m picking monologues now and I want to find perfect ones- I can’t help but wonder if there are things CMU acting admissions/acting faculty favor, or things they disfavor. I know the requirements of course, but any extra info from someone who has personally experienced CMU’s auditions process would be greatly appreciated!

Likewise, for anyone auditioning for Carnegie Mellon Acting for the 2020-2021 school year (so auditioning in 2019 or 2020)-- I’m starting this thread if anyone wants to chat. I’m auditioning in January, and I’m really excited but also nervous!
