<p>For those who are familiar with it, what's the social life generally like at CMU? What's it consist of for most people, and are the students satisfied with the atmosphere for the most part? I know the University of Pittsburgh is nearby, so is there a lot of inter-college... communication?</p>

<p>Well, I can assure you that there's ...like, 4 frats there if you're a party type person. If you aren't..well, it seems like a lot of people there aren't the weekend type. hehe. There ARE things to do: homework, sleep, stuff... Well, I don't know, my sister seems pretty busy there. And with friends, I'm sure you'll have fun whatever you do. </p>
<p>My sister says it rains ALL time there, which kind of brings down people's spirits. Not much people are willing to plod through the mud and drown in the puddles during a bleak day.</p>

<p>There is a huge party at a club near CMU, that EVERYONE(who parties) is going to. Lots of my friends are going. which means I am going to get home around 3 am and be too tired to post. Sat I wake up chill and do work till around 6pm. Then I am going out again on sat night to a party on campus and might hit a UPitt party. I and many of my friends are examples of the not weekend type of ppl. I could keep you posted on my social life but that might be too much for this thread to handle</p>
<p>BASICALLY: Dont believe what you read. we do party you just have to know the right ppl. and if you like to party you will.</p>
<p>Is it Possible to party and keep up a decent GPA. ARe people so competative there that you really have to pick one of the two or be absolutely brilliant?</p>
<p>Can't speak from personal experience but S (he's very social, lets say) is a senior and I know he's had a great time (is in a fraternity but I don't think that's a requirement for having fun). And he's got a good gpa. Because there's a city at your doorstep, and a huge state U next door, there are a lot of options.</p>
