Hi. First semester has ended and I got a 3.71 with ECE, calc 2, english, and programming at Carnegie Mellon. My SATs were 1410. Am I a competitive applicant for transfer to Cornell Engineering? Thanks for your input.

Hey just found out my first semester gpa is 3.71 too, i did hon. cal II, hon. physics, writing, ese major class, 16 credits. im transfering to cornell engineering as well, so i guess i can't really say anything
what's your next semesters schedule?

Next semester I'm taking Materials Science, Physics for Engineering Students I, Cognitive Psychology, and Calc 3D. Also I'm taking an EMT class for 6 units.

hahah maybe i can take your place next year :) I'm going to apply to CMU as a transfer.

Could you guys tell me if CMU offers to meet 100% of anticipated aid?

dont apply to cornell, im trying to get in engineering..lol

ten20jj,
hey just curious, did you take chem yet? I think there is one chem class requirement for all majors in college of engineering

This is a problem...it says chem 207, at least, is required for sophmore standing in all engineering majors, and I did not get a 5 on the AP so I cannot pass out of it. Can I possibly take it next semester?

hnbui, CMU met all of my aid, but then again I did not recieve much. I'm not sure how good the school is with aid, so I can't help you much more than that.

ten20jj,
yes thats what i planned to do. I guess if you are willing to do it during the summer before entering, that will count as well. But I'll do it next semester. My next semster schedule looks like this calc 3, classical physics II, writing, chem and a major class, 18 credits. Applying for electrical computer engineering, and mechanical engineering (aerospace option) as my second option.

i'm going to be applying as a 2nd year
