I was accepted into BU’s COM and I want to go into advertising. I toured the campus yesterday and, despite the rain and wind, I loved it (which is saying a lot for a girl born and raised in California).

However, I was wondering if BU’s COM was worth the expense to pass up Carnegie Mellon or Syracuse, both very prestigious.

Also, I wanted to mention that even after FinAid, BU is still the most expensive of my schools

Congratulations on getting admitted to 3 great schools. I don’t know anything about CMU, but I’ll share my opinion re: BU v. SU. Newhouse, while very prestigious, isn’t a good fit for everybody. I chose BU over it because I wouldn’t be happy at Syracuse (for many reasons), and I’m convinced COM will offer me similar opportunities in an environment I’ll thrive in. COM is also very highly regarded, and Boston is the greatest college city in the country! Either school will provide you with the necessary tools - the rest is up to you anyway - so my advice is go where you’ll be happiest.
