Coca-Cola scholarship

I still haven’t received the email… can someone tell me how many essays there are?

That’s really weird. I can’t imagine what the process was for choosing semifinalists. I realizing I’m just whining, but I feel like I should have “qualified.” So everyone that made it is on that list, right? And has recieved a letter/email?

Oh well, there are other scholarships out there! (end of negative attitude).

blindkite, I feel your pain. I heard there was a formula based on the sheet you filled out. I am only involved (but deeply involved) in a few clubs at my school, so I couldn’t pick up “points” in many of those categories.

Haha, guess I don’t deserve the scholarship because I wasn’t smart enough to max out the points on my stats.

I am still not convinced that all the names on the website are for this year. Michigan looks like last year names

It’s this year’s result. I got my semi-finalist letter today and I’m on the list. I can’t find where to fill out the next part of the application though.

definitely this year…got my letter yesterday!

I’m still not convinced. In the email that i received after submitting my application, it states, “If you are selected as an Semi-finalist, you will be notified after mid December.”

Or maybe I’m just in denial…

not convinced? Like 6 people just verified that it’s definitely this year’s list…

anyway, I got my semifinalist letter but not the email. I’m dying to know what the application is like. Can someone please briefly describe the requirements? How many essays? How many teacher recs?

essays -2 short ones and one 500 word one on legacy
1 rec from teacher, 1 rec from non family member

okay, seeing that i have yet to receive a mail or email from the foundation, i guess i will accept that i didn’t make the semi-final cut. it is quite strange for the foundation to post the names on a rather obscure website AND not have the list on the official scholarship website. to add onto the oddity of the situation, in previous years, semi-finalist notifications were sent in mid-December, and this year wasn’t supposed to be any different, as indicated in the email after submitting the online appication.

well, to all the semi-finalists, congrats and good luck in the next round

I don’t know…
Although I, too, have yet to receive a letter or an email from the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, I rechecked the email that I received after I submitted my application and, lo and behold, here’s what I found:

“Hi (username),
Your Scholarship application has been successfully submitted and your application identification number is (number).
Please retain this application identification number carefully for future reference.
If you are selected as an Semi-finalist, you will be notified after <<mid december=”“>>.
Sincerely,
Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation”</mid>

I don’t know… something just doesn’t seem right.

Here is a link from the FAQS section of the website. I have yet to get an email, but I got the letter yesterday.

https://www.coca-colascholars.org/cokeWeb/faqs.jsp?navigation=14&content=2</a></p>

Oh. My. goodness. OK, so I had no clue where to check since I’m a Floridian resident going to school in Georgia. I checked the Florida section, and zilch. Then I checked the Georgia section, scrolled down to the “v’s”, and zilch. So yeah. Until I decided to randomly ctrl+F my school’s name, and somehow for somereason there I was at the VERY BOTTOM of the list. I dunno, maybe cuz I had lower-cased the “von” in my last name or something, but yeah, this is this year’s list, cuz I have never applied to this before. (ETA: Yeah, also if your not on the list, be sure to ctrl+F JUST IN CASE cuz you really never know).

So now one thing: is the letter sent to your house or to your school? Cuz I’m at a boarding school right now and I haven’t received any email so I’m not quite sure what to do next. Should I just wait or should I call them?

I was also mildly surprised because I had like only two things under “community service awards” and because I had to check no to a lot of clubs/activities that my high school doesn’t have.

I’m surprised to see that no one from San Francisco made it. Especially since last year, two people actually got money.

Only those students whose applications adcance to the Semifinalist round are notified of their selection by mail in mid to late November. Applicants who do not receive written notification by the first week in January can assume their application did not advance. A list of Semifinalists will be posted on our website shortly after notification letters are sent.[\quote]

I got a letter saying I’m a semi-finalist and telling me to go back to the website and get other materials, but I’ve been on the website and can’t find what they’re talking about. Does anyone know what to do?

whoops, nevermind, I found the forms in my e-mail. These are not looking pleasant…

Anyone know the deadlines for the apps? I see my name on the website but i haven’t received anything at all yet.

I actually did the whole thing in 20 minutes the day it was due

I’m one of two people in my school that made semifinalist
