does it make sense for a freshman to bring a basic coffee maker into the commons?

I am thinking about bringing a coffee maker. I think it would be nice especially during midterms or finals week, u really don’t have to leave your room to buy coffee =] especially when im on a roll ( w/studying)

Its also nice to have a nice cup of coffee waiting for you while you get ready for class in the morning and all you have to do is pour it in your cup and go to class. I think it could be useful.

ya’ll can make these decisions after you get there…it isn’t hard to get out to buy things after you have lived on campus a while and settled in. You can buy single cup coffee packets (like mini things you see in hotel rooms) and just pour very hot water from your microwave from one mug into a mug with the single cup coffee packet in it. Not Starbucks but not as bad as instant either.

my roommate brought one (a small one). You can bring one if you want to. But, you can buy coffee all over campus. If you’re a freshman, the common ground sells coffee whenever you need.

what about an espresso maker?

I don’t like American portions!

Not a lot of people have coffee makers but you can definitely bring one. I think most people just end up going to Starbucks (even though its more expensive) or they buy coffee from other places on campus (not too expensive, maybe like 3 dollars?). Also, there’s a starbucks in branscomb…and it’s on the card, so that is an option too.

I had one in the beginning of this year but it just became too much of a hassle…with the sugar…the milk…

Just use your microwave and make instant coffee. Your dorm room is not big enough for everything.

the commons are actually pretty big and barely take up any room. you’d be surprised how much people can fit into their kissam singles… let alone common doubles
