Colgate University Admissions Fall 2022 - Class of 2026

Son is waitlisted; hopes to get off waitlist. Anyone know when they will start accepting those off the waitlist? After May 1?

DId they release any stats about the cycle? # applied, # accepted?

Got in as an international student (full-pay). 1500, 96/100 GPA, 115+ TOEFL, no AP/IB at school but self studied AP Cal BC and Microecon (5, 5), submitted 3/3 optional essays and an updated resume in Feb.

Another waitlist for my son. Tough year for these kids. Congrats to those who got accepted.

right now they only released the number of applications they’ve received. Applications for the Class of 2026 Reach Record Numbers – The Colgate Maroon-News (thecolgatemaroonnews.com)

Yes. Approx 21K apps. Historically, they accept about 2.2K-2.4K applicants. Assuming that holds true, acceptance rate this year was about 11%
 which is nuts

I was waitlisted at NYU, Bates, Case Western and now Colgate. It’s kind of a running joke at this point.

I believe they accepted 3015 last year. If they do the same this year, that’s 14%
but still nuts

Who knows how Colgate managed their acceptances this year but last year they were WAY overenrolled - by something like 150 students. They might be much more conservative in how many they accepted outright this year as it is my understanding that they are not looking to increase the size of the school and last year’s class of 915 isn’t something they want again. They didn’t go to WL last year at all.

It’s possible that they took fewer students this time and will wait to see where the chips fall and then go to WL if they need to fill the class (which will likely be back to being between 750-800).

Remember that Colgate takes about 55 percent in ED so there just aren’t that many spots left for RD.

Yes. It started last year with an increase in 120 percent in apps. More than double what they’ve had in the past. They accepted about the same number of kids but, of course, that meant acceptance rate was way down. Then more kids showed up than they expected.

My stats aren’t good enough for them to do yield protection.

My daughter has the same stats you just stated here. 3.8gpa unweighted/4.1 weighted
and no financial aid need and Colgate is need aware. Based on Naviance she was easily getting in. Very shocked too.

Hey were you full pay?

My Son get in but no $.
NW 4.0
SAT 1570
ACT 33

2 Jobs – year around, total 10 hrs per week.

Isn’t Colgate need-based aid only? Or I am incorrect?
