[/ul]General Comments:
Accepted to Carleton today with better aid, so I’ll probably pass on Colgate and (hopefully) free up a spot for someone else. Good luck to everyone, wherever you might end up!

My son also got his acceptance letter last week. 4/4 now still waiting on 3 more this coming Thursday. Was happy with their offer made it competitive with the other 3 he’s been accepted to Geneseo, Marist and Albany Pharmacy.

Can anyone comment on the social scene at Colgate? Is there pressure to drink and party? is there any stigma for someone who prefers not to drink?

ds is there and he is not the drinking type

I have a close friend who attends Colgate and he doesn’t drink at all. He loves it there!

My S was accepted. Low GPA (3.5) but a 34 ACT. He has good ECs and established a relationship with our area’s admissions rep. His fathers family has gone there for generations and we didn’t apply for FA, so we were almost positive that he would be admitted (we also are from the area and my FIL is good friends with Gary Ross.)

Congratulations to everyone else who was accepted, and good luck to everyone who is going to be going down a different path next year! If my S decides to go to Colgate perhaps you may meet him.

Comments:
Really stoked that I got in! I did take all honors classes during my time in high school, but not very many APs (only three altogether). But nonetheless, I’m very happy that I got in! I don’t know yet if I will attend, however, as I’m still waiting from two other schools. Congrats to those who got in and good luck to those on the wait list. For those who were denied, there are so many schools out there and I’m sure you will find a place that best fits you.

Got in! 2020 SAT. International from India. :D

Got my acceptance a couple days ago. Does anyone else find this message a bit mysterious? Handwritten on the bottom of my admissions letter: “Someone who knows you well told us you are responsible, motivated, dedicated, and outstanding.”

It was probably just from a rec? It still makes me wonder…

thats from the recs, I got a similar message. My twin who also got in had a message about his ECs. just a personal touch

HAVE ANY INTERNATIONALS been accepted- still waiting!!! here in jamaica!!

I’m an international student and just got accepted to Colgate. My SAT is 1440/2190 (710 M, 730 CR, 750 W). Colgate met 100 % of my financial need, which is, to put it softly, high. To all of you international applicants out there, especially those with high financial need - Colgate is real.

Int’l student from Jamaica - I’m almost positive that you got accepted, it just takes forever to deliver that letter. I got mine today (I live in Eastern Europe).

@firework2 I’m also an international student from the Caribbean and I was accepted…at this point if you haven’t received a rejection/wait-list e-mail I bet you’re accepted although I can understand why you’d be feeling nervous. Maybe you can try joining the Class of 2016 group of facebook. It’s a closed group so if the admins allow your request, it’s safe to assume you’ve been accepted.
and btw i got my acceptance of friday…so maybe you’ll get yours soon!!!

I hope so guys! thanks for the encouragement- did u get an email tho? or was it just on paper? CAUSE ive been refreshing my hotmail every 2 minutes literally, really hope i get in.
@lalachica where are you from?
@siemprerusa thanks man

i was accepted to the group- not sure if thats an indicator tho!

@firework, i did not get an email. on friday a fed-ex guy called my house asking for directions…he came dropped it off and that was that but the other ppl from my country who got rejected or waitlisted got emails. the same is true for my friends in europe and africa- i asked them.
