College Admission question! IMPORTANT!

Will colleges see your senior transcript if you waited a year after graduation to apply for colleges? I'm asking this because I have this issue. I'm a Georgian high school student. I just finished my junior year in high school. I just found out that I need a year in visual arts in order to be accepted or even apply for any colleges in California. So, I'm wondering if there is any method to get a visual arts credit so I can attend California's colleges and universities?

Are you sure that none of your coursework up to this point satisfies the requirement?

Yes, colleges see your senior year transcript. Check with your HS or local community college about how to fulfill a visual arts reqmt. BTW, have you checked if your parents can afford CA schools OOS?

Yes.

You mean CA Public colleges.

This summer at a local college; fall semester at your HS or a local college.

I didn’t take any visual arts classes like art or choir cause I thought they wouldn’t need visual arts credit but apparently, they did.

I imagine that taking a class at a community college would satisfy the requirement. Perhaps you could apply and give them evidence that you’ve enrolled for the class for the summer? Be clear on what the requirements are though. If it’s “visual arts” chorus won’t count.

If you’re talking about the “F” of the A - G requirements, it can be filled by taking one 3-unit semester course at a CA CC. This website

<a href=“A-G Policy Resource Guide”>A-G Policy Resource Guide;

lists all courses at any CC that fulfills the requirement. Some of the “F” courses are online and don’t require anything on site. S just took a music history class for his F/art and it was easier than any of his HS classes. I’m not sure how an OOS student would go about this though.

Also, you can APPLY in the fall of your senior year as long as the requirement is in process. It doesn’t have to be completed by the end of the junior year.
