Taking art over the summer?

My dilemma: taking art over the summer or taking art senior year... What should I do?

1 year of Visual and Performing Arts is required to graduate from my high school, and is also required in order to apply to a University of California. Which is why I'm taking it.

I was worried that college adcoms would look at my application and say "Oh, look this kid took a really easy course over his sophomore summer!" or "He's just trying to get a higher GPA senior year!" I don't know how bad, or good, it would look on my transcript to have something like "Art" as my summer school course.

Consider that if I don't take art over this summer, then I won't go to summer school at all, but at the same time I'll also have a stronger senior courseload.

I don't know what to say...

But you think you have it bad...

We have to have FOUR years of art to graduate at my school. I just gave in and take art classes almost every term so I can get my credits...

^I WISH!
I actually LIKE art, but it won't fit into my schedule. :(

Anyone?

Should I take art in summer school or take it during senior year?
