I know colleges have dates out for admission decision release date but does some people who are accepted get admission deicison early?
I’m not talking about colleges with rolling admission but colleges like princeton, georgetown, or Duke that says on their website that they will release their admission decision result in April 1st. I’m getting nervous and seems like some people who are accepted are notified early. Thanks
Some people applied for Early Action/Decision or whatever, and therefore recieved their decisions earlier on. Some colleges send out ‘likely letters’ for RD which basically means you’ll be accepted, but it isn’t an official official acceptance. However, for the vast majority of RD applicants March 31st and April 1st will be decision date.
The Ivies have a common release date although applicants may get a “likely letter” before then. Other colleges may notify major merit scholarship recipients early.
I have a similar question! Colleges can be so funky like that. For example, Oberlin College’s website says their regular decision release date is April 1-- but they sent me (a regular decision applicant) my acceptance letter + financial award and everything on March 3, like a month early! I have no idea why?? Would love more info on when/why colleges pull this ish! But yea there’s a real life example for you
Did Oberlin say decisions ON April 1 or BY April 1?
@TomSrOfBoston I’m just going off this information on their website https://new.oberlin.edu/arts-and-sciences/admissions/first-year-applicant/deadlines.dot I’m not certain whether they meant on or by, but I feel like since they failed to be more specific, “on” is a reasonable assumption-- again though, I’m unsure
