For Cal Poly, I’m confused about the ECs. Am I supposed to list how much hours I did all four years, or just recent?
And, how does CP check what u put on on college apps? Do u need proof that u did that much hours?
Also, my mom went to a community college but my dad didn’t graduate high school. Would they just believe me if I put that on my app or would they look into it and try to verify it?
The CSU application asks for your parents level of education. EC’s are hours/week and if you plan to continue them in your Senior year, you can put those hours down. You self-report everything on your CSU application and it is based on the honor system. Unless you submit an outrageous amount of hours, they will not check. CSU’s will only check your HS grades against your final transcript once you are accepted and enrolled.
For a school like CPP, ECs and volunteer hours aren’t considered so, there is no incentive to over-state your involvement.
You can read about their admission criteia and applicant ranking here:

I’d encourage you to be truthful on all facets of your application. You might be asked to document anything you submit. If you can’t produce it, they will yank your acceptance. Ideally, you’d have log of your volunteer hours but, few people go that far. A simple letter from a teacher or whomever can vouch for your level of engagement is all they’d be looking for. It is not a bad idea to think about how you’d validate any claim before you make it.
