I am a transfer student- spring 2012, bio major. I wanted to know which would be the best campus. I am leaning toward college ave for the social aspect. I want to be able to go out on weekends & i like the urban atmosphere (although i visited a year ago, so i don't fully remember).

My only problem with college ave is that i am afraid that it will be too social, making it hard to actually get work done (i'm premed). But i have heard that Busch is really serious, with not much going on but studying. All in all, looking for a place to study during the week, but have fun on the weekend.

I always joke around and ask my brother where I’ll live while at RU (next fall) and he’s in his third year at RU (Newark, commuter), but he’s been to RU NB for Rutgersfest and visiting friends, and he says that I’ll never live on college ave or livingston haha

Those are the party places and very social. He said you’ll most likely be living on Busch, which I’m fine with since I will also be doing Pre-Med (Bio Major). If you want you can always commute to the campus over…not too far. Studying > Socializing

People on Busch aren’t as serious as people make them out to be, at least in my opinion. They still are PLENTY of people who party all the time. Personally, I would live on Busch because it’s better in terms of the classes you might take, dorms, and facilities. You can always take the buses on Fridays or weekends to College Ave.

Busch is mainly for science/math students, so it wouldn’t be inaccruate to say that people are more “serious” on this campus compared to College Ave. But don’t get me wrong; there are so many people who go out to College Ave on weekends for better food and social life.

I’m currently a freshman, so I may not be able to depict the most accruate picture that describes the Busch campus; but, as an engineer who’s living on Busch, I can tell you that most people on Busch usually work hard and play hard, so it would be wrong to think of us as a bunch of machines and workaholics. People on Busch may not be necessarily as social and party-like as those who live on College Ave, but they know how to relax and socialize.

If I were you, I’d also consider living on Cook/Douglass; this campus has numerous biological sciences buildings, and since it’s not as open and city-like as College Ave, it wouldn’t interfere with your study as much.
