College Board deleted my daughter's SAT subject score

We just found out that College Board deleted my daughter’s SAP Chemistry Subject test score which was taken on May 6th 2017 when she was in High school 9th grade. I called College Board customer service line then I was told that the score was removed by mistake since their record shows 8th grade when my daughter took the test which is wrong. My daughter took the test when she was in 9th grade. and She is 12th grade now and we need the score to be submitted to the colleges now. The customer support representative submitted a report to their escalation department and told me that someone from escalation department will contact me in 2 to 3 days, but it has been 7 day now, no one contacted me. I called every day and I was told the same thing that I need to wait, but could not tell me how long I should wait. Does anybody experience the same situation with college Board, and how was the issue solved?

Not that situation, but when I wanted to save my D’s scores from 8th grade, the lag time between communications with CB was fairly significant.

Do you have a printout/screen shot as a backup. I know CB always says they cannot be retrieved, but there should be basic IT backup processes in place (though 3 years later might be tough).

If you have a copy of the score report and CB will confirm their error, that should be a fairly strong combination to submit.

Terrible situation - let us know how it is resolved.

(If you have the score report - what grade does it show?)

Still not resolved yet! It has been two weeks since I first time called College Board! I called every day to the College Board and I was told every day that I will be contacted by the escalation team in 2 to 3 days, but so far no contact. The school’s office has emailed CB the score record which was downloaded directly from CB.

From all the complaints I have read on the CC boards, I would not expect your issue to be resolved very quickly.

Hopefully you have a copy of that score that you can send to colleges along with an explanation of what happened. Worst case they will make her acceptance conditional upon the College Board’s confirmation, but chances are it is going to be such a small factor in the acceptance or rejection of her application that they will not need a follow up for either decision.

Edited to say: If you don’t have a copy of the score, check with her high school. Perhaps they were given a copy and may even include it on her transcript.

Many colleges now allow self reporting of all test scores in the Common App, subject to confirmation of official score reports upon matriculation. It looks like from your post #2 that your school has a record of the original score. I would think this is something that your D’s GC could note in his/her report which should work for admissions purposes initially.

Good news! College Board has reinstalled my D’s Score record. Thanks all who provided comments and inputs here. Although it took 2 weeks to get resolved, we are very happy that it was resolved on time and my D is ready to submit her application now. Thanks all!

Good to hear. I suspected that “permanently deleted” really is’t.
