other info
essays about unique international experiences I've had
also have a fairly severe medical problem that I've overcome etc. been studied for medical journals (NOT something I'm proud of)

Anyway, here's where I want to apply

Stanford (EA, just for fun)
Wellesley
Swarthmore
Amherst
Bowdoin
Middlebury
Haverford
Bryn Mawr
University of Chicago
Carleton

Should I even bother with Stanford? What about my chances at other schools? Are they reaches, matches?? Do i have safeties?? I want to major in literature or biology, any suggestions for other colleges?

ANY advice would be appreciated!!!!

You have as good a shot at Stanford as any other. Being studied for medical journals could be an interesting hook, in my opinion, if you essays are written well. Go for it!

may i steal your stats?

haha, they sound amazing and you have a good chance at all those schools. way to overcome your obstacles!

Libs, There's nothing in your profile that would keep you from being admitted to any of the colleges on your list. All the same, I would strongly suggest that you add a sure bet safety. Bryn Mawr is close to being a safety, but I think still borderline. Maybe Smith or Skidmore?

I'd also recommend that you take a look at Williams. Not that you need another super-selective, but I mention it because it has all the academic qualifications of the others on your list plus excellent opportunities for music performance.

libby oh my goodness your resume is unbelievable.

please just go to stanford so i might have a chance of getting in anywhere.

one question: why university of chicago? just wondering, because you havent mentioned it.

yeah, please don't apply to wellesley. ;)

Thanks for all your comments...keep em coming!!

ACC_bound,
that is a profound question you asked about University of Chicago...I actually stumbled on it just a few weeks ago but it sounds perfect for a nerd like me. Actually, I'm still unsure about it, anyone that has any advice or info abou U of Chicago, please please respond!!!!

toffee- actually Wellesley is one of my top choices...its so beautiful and I love all the people I've met who are alums/students there!

I'd say that Wellesley is a near safety for you if your SAT IIs hold up to your other scores. Swat, Amherst, and UChicago are all near matches. Of course, with the low admit rates at these schools, you still need a real safety like UT as a backup, but my money says you get into all 4 of those. Stanford is a reach for everyone. Question, if you like Wellesley and Amherst, why not the Ivies instead of Stanford?
