If you get credits at a university while you're in high school, can you usually get those credits transferred when you do go to college? (assuming you go to a different one). I am a little confused.

I have a qn related to this also..Would university look at you more favorably if you are selected to do an university course while in high school due to your good performance in school?

OP: honestly, it depends on the policy of the college you attend.

tbhnams: if you did well in that course, of course it'll help your app.

To second arti,

op: If you get credits in HS from a college/university, those credits CAN trasfer. Uusually they ask on the application if you've previously taken any college course work, and you send in your (college) transcript.

tb: I didn't know that students could be selected to take classes at an university. At my school, this option is available to anyone, and I imagine it's like that at a number of places. Because of this, it may not be completely obvious to the college that you were selected on your good performance. If that's the case, though, you should point it out in your app.

Oh, ok, does the GPA you get from the college count for anything? It doesn't factor into your college GPA does it...

:))..thx alot saint and arti:)..Actually at my place they chose only 20 students from each school based on our year end results.. Would a 3.3 be considered a good grade or should i not talk about it in my application altogether?

Once you get accepted, you'll probably have to send transcripts and course syllabi to the Advising or Registrar's offices and they will review them to decide whether to accept your credit (unless there is already an agreement between the schools to accept credits). Many colleges, if they decide to accept your credits, will only transfer your pass/fail or will transfer your grade but not count it towards your GPA - check with individual colleges
