College Course Requirements by state

I moved here a few years ago from europe and am now in college in florida.
I was wondering if the course requirements for each state are different, and if so where could I find a complete list of these? I may be transfering next semester and dont want to take nonsense courses just to fufill a requirement that may not be necessary next year.

Here in FL we have the gordon rule, which includes 12 writing and 6 math credits. But I also have to take two humanities, one history, one social science, and two natural science courses.

Are the requirements in other states similar?

Requirements will be different for every college individually, not just the state.

I can tell you almost all Arts & Sciences colleges will require atleast 1 course in writing, 2 humanities, 2 social science, 2 natural science. Many will require a math class. Many will require a foreign language.

I don’t know all of the specifics, but at Ohio State we need 20 credits in a foreign language.

This depends totally on the school…go on the websites of schools you’re interested in transferring to and look at their requirements. Some schools have none, some have very little, some are very specific and require certain courses.
