Hey I just wanted to know if I should send in a college transcript (since I took a couple courses at the local college while in HS).

I didn't do well at all in them and I am worried. Should I send the transcript to NYU in addition to my HS transcript?

Will it benefit me that i even took the courses or would it hurt my application? and will NYU average them into my GPA if they were academic courses?

Thanks! But I also wanted to know, if I earned college credit elsewhere, like a Summer Program at a college, would that be a different transcript? In other words, could I only send that college’s credit and not the other local college credit?

Also, when I officially enter a four-year university, do I start a new transcript, like clean slate? If not? can I choose to like forfeit credits so they wont go on my college transcript? thanks!

I’m pretty sure they’ll ask for the transcript if you listed it anywhere on your application. If not, i honestly don’t think it will hurt. I got in ED and took a physics class at Northwestern and got a C. I think it shows initiative on your part (even if you didn’t get 100% - they know a highschooler won’t do as well as a college student). I would say send it unless you flat out failed. And every college’s transcript office works differently. If you took classes at colleges A and B and only wanted to send in B’s transcript, just don’t tell them you went to college A, or they’ll ask for proof. Hope that helps!

Thanks thats what I was thinking! If i dont tell them I went to college A, then they’ll never get the transcript. But while I still have two years to figure this out, do you think theyll average in my college chemistry grade with my other academic courses? because I do know NYU does this but Im just worried if I do decide to send in the college transcript, theyll average it in. Also, I plan on taking AP chem my senior year, so the grade wont be re-calculated by NYU but im just hoping they’ll see Im taking AP Chem and favor that credit over the college chem.

Freshman - its noted on their website. They say “If you have taken college courses during high school you are considered a Freshman applicant”

I also asked them if they ask for a college transcript if you did take courses during HS.

They replied saying that they understand High school students already have a large courseload and it is not asked for a freshmen applicant to submit a college transcript. However, I am wondering if its still benefitial to mention it in a resume…
