If I take a college course in HS, am I required to report my grade to colleges when I apply. For example, if I apply to Northwestern and I took a class at community college X, can I just tell Northwestern that i took a college class without sending them a transcript?

Typically, they do want to know about all of your college courses, including grades for those you have completed.

what if you don’t send it in?

Send it in. Don’t play the “what if” game. :)

I dont want to send it

That’s why I was asking…but whatever thanks guys

It is very doubtful that it will make a difference if you send it or not. If it doesn’t appear on your HS transcript it can’t possibly matter.

If you don’t send it, probably the worst thing that will happen is you won’t get credit.

I don’t care about credit, all I want to do is show colleges that I took the initiative of pursuing academia outside of school

If you want the colleges to know you took the class, send the transcript. You can write on your application that you took the course, but having done that the college will want you to prove it.

So you have two options:
1/ Mention it on your application and send the transcript
2/ Don’t mention it on your application and don’t send the transcript

They ask you for your GPA on the application and still expect your HS transcript. You really don’t think colleges are going to admit applicants on their word alone?

I don’t. They don’t ask you to prove your ECs…

I already asked my guidance, this thread can be closed
