College Credit for Incoming Freshmen?

I’m in incoming freshman to UC Davis with the BIological Sciences major, and I want to get a headstart over the summer and take a general ed course that might be packed at Davis. So I was wondering what courses does UC Davis take credit from a community college that might be very popular at Davis? Thank you very much!!

Since the general education requirements have gotten revamped for the incoming freshmen class, it’s difficult to say which courses satisfy which requirements. As for which are the popular courses, they are generally the ones that sound interesting (like Food Science, Nutrition, Beer Brewing, etc). However, there are many different classes that you can take to satisfy the same requirement so it is not imperative that you must take a specific general education class in order to satisfy the requirement. For each general education requirement, there are multiple classes to choose from that can be used to satisfy it.

As for seeing which courses taken at your community college will be transferable to UC Davis, the best website to check out is [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) They will tell you which class is transferable and what the equivalent class is at UC Davis. Let me know if you have any other questions.
