Which UCs take summer credits

Does anyone know of the URL for the list of UCs that accept summer classes towards your major? I cannot seem to find it. Thank you.

I thought all of them do.

I know for sure UC Davis accepts summer classes towards your major, since I took pre-reqs for my major the summer before I enrolled at UC Davis, and those courses were accepted.

I remember seeing a list of colleges within the universities that did not take summer classes for science majors. I am not sure though you could be correct! The one I am most interested in is UCI.

UCI recommends early completion of prerequisite courses required for selective majors. However, if specified in the student’s Transfer Contract, some coursework for majors require prerequisites (e.g., Engineering, Information and Computer Science, Biological Sciences) that may be taken during the preceding summer.

What is a transfer contract? Is this for all Engineering, Information and Computer Science, Biological Science majors?

by “not not take summer classes towards major” they only mean the summer RIGHT before the fall you transfer to uc

So this is for all bio majors?

Not not take means I can take summer classes? Lol I just wanna know if this is for all bio/science majors, in other words what the hell is this contract they speak of?

These “contracts” are given to students who are admitted to a UC with some provisions (such as needing to complete major prep courses with a C or better and maintaining their GPA).

But yes, as stated before, you can take summer classes towards your major (unlike what alphasigmafire said, UC Davis accepts summer classes towards your major the summer right before the fall you transfer to UC. I’m an animal science major, btw). Have you been accepted to a UC yet, or are you applying next year (2013-2014)?

This I think has everything you’re looking for.

http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/counselors/files/CC11_TransferMatrix_final.pdf

I have not been admitted. I am in an unusual situation. I went to CCC transferred to Rutgers University, realized how horrible of a decision it was. Now I am trying to transfer back from there. The reason I am staying there until transfer or never transferring is because medical schools look down upon CC pre-med credits and I find it much easier to get good grades when I do not know who my competitors are. I am also trying Cal Poly SLO. UCI and SLO are the only places I will be eligible for but I am guna apply to UCLA, UCSB, UCD, and UCB anyways regardless if they are a long shot, because I will have gone over the credit caps. 90 is the cap for most. UCI doesn’t have one SB is 90, B is somewhere around there and so is UCLA but I have heard of those two specifically making exceptions, and UCD is 80 but they do approve some students through dean review.

GAH I’m going to just call I have two things contradicting each other. I was probably a better bet anyways I just hate being on hold for so long with the admissions office lol.

EDIT: I am applying for fall 2013

I didn’t know medical schools looked down on cc pre med credits. There are several people in my bio/chem classes who already have bachelor degrees (in non science majors) and are doing pre reqs to apply to medical school.

Many people still go to CCs to do it. That is just what my medical advisor told me.
