college credits may be a negative factor in my college admissions

<p>So I want to go to UMKC, but you can't have anymore than 24 credit hours to get into the BA/MD program, which is what I really want to do. So far I have 17 credits from last year. </p>

<p>The problem is, I am taking AP English and AP Bio next year as well as dual credit calc II. Calc alone is three credits a semester. Assuming I get no credit for AP, will having 23 credits keep me out? Can I even opt out of the AP exam? I'm pretty sure no one at my school has ever not taken it.</p>

<p>I could just not take calc dual credit, but what if i don't get into UMKC? Then I have just lost six college credits. </p>

<p>I was wondering if anyone else has ever been a situation like this. I would really appreciate some advice.</p>

<p>It's kind of ironic that I'm in this situation because at UMKC they look for the most rigorous course work. To better my chances I took a lot of dual credit classes because my school only has two APs and one honors class.</p>
