I got accepted to Chico state and they emailed me asking if I have any college credits because I took a gap year and they were curious whether I took classes during my break. I told them I didn’t take any college classes after I graduate. I went to a school that combines high school and college. I took very basic college classes. And I have about 32 credits. I went into my portal and they want both my college and high school transcript. I got accepted by other school but didn’t ask for my college transcript. I applied as a high school student not a transfer. Do I have to submit my college transcript to them. I kind of don’t want to because my college gpa is a 2.5 and I don’t want to start college as a freshman with that gpa. So does any one know if I have to send them my college transcript or if they can excuse it ???
Yes. You have to send your college transcript. You should have sent it to every place where you applied. So be sure to do that now when you send it to Chico.
They will decide which (if any) of those credits will transfer. They can also tell you what their policy is about recording grades for transferred classes. At some universities the grades don’t transfer, at others they do. My college only recorded the transferred classes as the course number equivalent and the number of credits.
Whenever you apply for admission to a degree program, including grad school some day, or for a job that requires all of your transcripts, you will need to send an official copy of this old transcript. But please don’t let these older not-as-good-as-you’d-like grades fret you too much. The older they become, and the better your new grades are, the less they will matter.
