THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Scattergrams from your school are much more useful to you than any info we can give here. What it takes from your school is what matters. You have an uphill battle being Chinese and from private school.

I'll second that. I'm also a Chinese male, and attend private school. I have similar stats to yours, and although without any personal experience (I'm a junior) I can tell it's going to be an uphill battle. An Indian GIRL (remember, they like girls doing math/science) with 2400/36/9 AP/National Science fair got deferred from Harvard.

Being Chinese won't hurt you if you're a U.S. citizen. Go ahead and apply to any of those schools; just add some safer matches and safeties.

Maybe it's because I'm new, but I'm pretty sure you have a pretty good chance of getting into those colleges.

Harvard...reach
-Yale...reach
-Stanford...reach
-Princeton...reach
-UChicago (EA)...match
-MIT (EA)...reach
-Rice (EA)...I don't know
-Northwestern...match
-Emory...I don't know

You're obviously good at science and math

but so are hundreds of thousands of other Chinese people.

Hopefully your last name isn't clearly Chinese (like Yu, Chiang, Wu, etc.). Maybe change your last name before you apply to those schools? lol

But seriously, a lot of elite schools are pro-affirmative action. They want diversity to go along with their intellectual students.

I think you could get into the less renowned Ivy League Schools like Dartmouth and Cornell.

I am also kinda new to the website. You have alot of ECs (sorry could not read all) and you seem like a typical person trying to find out their chances (from what I have read on CC, most of the threads had perfect SAT scores and many ECs). So far so good though. However, it will still be competitive. Just make sure you stand out in your essay. I think you have a good chance to any school of your choice if you are unique and stand out from all other students applying to the school of your choice.

You're certainly qualified for all the schools you've mentioned, but you do not have anything that stands out...at that point, it's really pretty random. You could get into several, but could also easily be rejected by every one. some of those schools are slightly easier than others, but you definitely need to also apply to some safeties (and perhaps more true matches.) I know plenty of people with equal to better stats who were rejected this year from many colleges. So I say it doesn't hurt to try, but I wouldn't count on getting in.

add some safer matches, WUSTL, state universities, etc. otherwise, you've worked really hard and good luck!!
