I need to make a college decision within the next week! I am deciding between the University of Illinois at Champ/Urbana and The City College of New York (in NYC). I am a biology major with the intention of going on to medical school after I get my bachelor's degree.

I am starting to feel like the acedemics at UofI are much better than CCNY, but CCNY is in the best city in the world. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!1 THANKSS!!!!

Without a doubt University of Illinois. It is one of the most respected schools in the nation, toping many charts in rankings. Has a well known Bio program. Nothing against CCNY, but it isn’t anywhere near UOI as far as getting into a top-notch medical school four years from now.

You entrance into med school will depend on your grades and your MCAT scores. Where will you get better grades? Also, med school is expensive. Which one will cost you less?

The cost comes out to about the same and I would probably get the same grades at either university. Thanks for the the input, I’m starting to feel like U of I would give me better chances of getting into med school and more opportunities for research and the program feels more legitimate than CCNY. But I can’t help but want to experience college/life in NYC :/
