Hello! I really need some help!

Okay so I basically need to decide between UChicago and NYU going into Biological Sciences. I plan to be pre-Med and eventually go into Immunology.

Both of them gave me roughly the same amount of money.
I like New York a lot more than Chicago
But I also want to have small class sizes and at least some free time.

Please tell me which school to go to.

UChicago has grade-deflation. For med school what they do is they would rather take a 4.0 GPA from a college like UC-Santa Cruz than a 3.6 from UCB. Obviously, a 3.6 at UCB is more qualified. If both had the same GPA and MCAT scores then they choose the prestigious university.

If you like New York go with NYU as its campus is basically the city.

Chicago will give you smaller average class sizes but not more free time.
It has a fairly distinct, and relatively insular, campus culture (one heavily focused on academics). If by now you don’t find that appealing, you far prefer NYC to the city of Chicago, and you don’t want an overly demanding program, then Chicago probably is not the right place for you.

Yeah, for med-school, undergrad prestige has a very small effect on admissions. If you feel like you can be that much more successful at NYU, go there.
