I don't have any pictures since my laptop broke, but let me warn you: definately consider off campus appartments. Other than dubious social value of living in the dorms, my experience as an Ohio State student living in the honors dorms first year was that the commercial appartments are both cheaper and nicer (I live in one now). The Ohio State honors dorms gave me a total of about 70 sq. feet of personal space (140 sq. feet once my roommate left). For about that same price, I could get my own apartment about the same distance from class with about 300 sq feet. Definately bring a old bike and new lock if you try this strategy.

But definitely look at the campus housing and surrounding area housing prices first. A lot of my friends at state school moved into apartments sophomore year, but here at MIT most people live in the dorms all four years, in large part due to high housing costs in Boston and Cambridge.

Interesting... I heard the same for Stanford undergrads (over 95% or something)

My dorm at UVA has 154 Squared Feet........just for ME....

oh, it's also in the central of the ground, 1 minute walk to Thomas Jefferson's "academic village" (the lawn and Rotunda)

Anyone else?

I like the idea...any more? (aka...bump)

dormtours.net has a few schools listed. My niece saw a nice look at Clark dorms I think and they have a list of other ones.

Thanks .. I believe the other one is: http://www.campusdirt.com/

Anyways... I expect more pics from the class of 09 when they start.... :)

Click on the dorms (in red) on the map to see exterior and interior photos of the Harvard dorms.

That's pretty neat.. funny how it's hosted through MIT

Yeah, so this is MY mit dorm room from last year:
http://web.mit.edu/elex/www/room/
(ignore all the cats...)
It's in MIT's Senior Haus, which we can have cats and paint the walls.
This room was a double, and was effing huge.

Holy cow! Who're those Harvard froshes at Hollis hall with that huge gigantic dorm room?

Lucky....

awwwwww kitties! I don't have pics yet, but my room is pretty big, it's 11'x17' so I guess that's 187 ft^2 so like 95 ft^2 /person? I can't wait to move in, but I am very envious of a dorm that allows cats!

Wow, that room is huge. It's enough to make that double seem more like a single. I'm guessing it's something like 12' by 24'.

My room was somewhere around 12' by 30', plus a ~20' by 20' lounge right outside in our suite.

The dorm pictures are really cool! Especially the messy Harvard rooms! :p

http://www.smith.edu/sao/reslife/houses/hopkins.php is the outside of my house (from the side). My room is a corner one on the 2nd floor with the fancy windows on two sides, a wood floor, crown moldings, and high ceilings. It's taken me 3 years of doubles/tiny rooms (I am NOT complaining--a bad Smith room is an average room anywhere else, and an average Smith room is much better than most other colleges' best) to get it, and I'm super excited!
