Two days ago submitted my common application to two schools even though I am not submitting the supplement until tonight. I did this because I needed to make sure my application fee was processed in time. But now it says that the schools have "downloaded" my application!

Does this mean my application will be incomplete or will the schools come back and download the supplement? Should I contact the admissions offices to inform them of my error?

No, you did nothing wrong, don’t worry! All it means is that schools will have started their file on you a day later. Most schools probably download once or twice a day all of the files that are submitted to them, and then track within their internal system. They will definitely download the supplement when you submit it to them-- this is absolutely how this process is supposed to work. (:

No no no this is completely normal and fine. They will not start reviewing your application until they have all of your materials. All this means is that someone from the college probably printed your app and put it in your file. When you submit your supplement, they will add that to your file as well, and only when your file is complete will they review your application. As long as you submit everything by the deadline, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
