College football 2023 🏈

Again this is not a debate thread.

Stallions says he resigned and was not fired.

There is a great debate forum here for exactly that reason.

It’s not illegal to figure out the signals and ‘steal’ them. If they keep using the same signals and signs at a game and you make the adjustment, say at half time, that’s fine.

It is illegal to do so at a game of a future opponent.

Well, now this is hilarious. Who’s the cheater now?

It also says “ The signals were not obtained illegally,”

As opposed to Michigan, where it is obvious they were obtained illegally. And this is the head coach still under investigation from recruiting violations.

So this is their defense?-
“Everyone else does it too (legally).”

It an admission of their guilt? “We are taking others down with us.”

Or how about they point the finger at the schools that are voting on their fate? (B10 commissioner is getting their vote to expand penalties beyond 2 game suspension).

Is collusion amongst other conference teams against Michigan legal now? :person_shrugging:

As I said, when one school is exposed everyone will be exposed. Yikes.

@sushiritto wonder who the former employee at Big Ten football program was
a recent unemployed Michigan “analyst” ?

sounds like the toddler defense “everyone else did it”
Not sure other teams presently have their head coach already in the midst of an NCAA investigation also. (recruiting violations).

Thanks for pointing out a few facts though. It isn’t the sign stealing that is against NCAA rules. It is alleged (and seems to be backed up by on-the-record facts) that they:

  • scouted future teams in-person
  • electronically transmitted the video from said scouting.

THAT is what is against the rules. All this new finger-pointing is just an excuse for Michigan to deflect.

So, you’re wndering if Conner Stallions, who recently resigned from Michigan football was also collecting Michigan signs and sharing them with other B1G teams? Like a double secret agent?

That’s quite an assumption. The rest of it, I’ll wait to play out and know the actual evidence, not what’s just being reported in the news, which may or may not be BS.

Jim Harbaugh was just suspended from coaching on game days for the rest of the season.

It’s game day - and I get to GO! (thanks to a new baby being born and the father being too tired to use his ticket).

I’m extra thankful because the game is on the Pac-12 network which I DON’T GET! (no one gets the Pac-12 network)

UGA finally had a great game, start to finish, against a top team. It’s the first game this season I really enjoyed and feel more optimistic about their playoff and championship chances. The easy schedule early season plus slow first half performances had me a bit nervous.

And they clinched the SEC East! Go Dawgs!!!:black_heart::heart::black_heart:

I feel ya. If UT could play four strong quarters in the same game I’d feel a lot better.

jimbo fisher fired. $76 million buyout.

A&M sure has deep pockets. Yikes.

Michigan state too. Mel Tuckers contract was for $95 million.

I dont think Michigan State has the resources to buy out Mel Tucker’s contract.

They may escape that terrible contract when they fired him. He was a one hit wonder with some fortunate transfers.

Mat Ishbia is a graduate of a MSU and the owner of the Phoenix Suns and Mercury.

Good work if you can get it. I’d gladly give up my job for $76m. I’m sure he’ll land on his feet.

Very few teams can afford the Jimbo type buyout.

$14 million is not in the ball park compared to about $100 million which is what a&m will end up paying between Jimbo’s contract, his assistants, and paying for a new coach which could also be substantial. Not sure if MSU couldve bought out Tucker’s entire deal had MSU continued to struggle.

We’ll see how much the next MSU coach gets.

Rumor is A&M offered Dan Lanning $11-12 million per year. Lanning has a $20 million buyout from Oregon. Not sure if that’s true.

When Texas fired Tom Herman, his buyout was $15 million which was a drop in the bucket for Texas.

Texas and Texas A&M have a deep bench of donors who really care about football.
