bigredmed that link is funny as hell. I remember laughing during the postgame of ND-MSU last year when Howard was killing MSU. I could almost hear MSU recruits cringing during the postgame (and of course during the actual ND comeback!!!). The only thing he didnt say was that MSU should transfer to DIII.

if matt flynn plays the way he played in the peach bowl a few years back, then lsu will have the best shot at beating usc

Go Blue!!!!

RUTGERS ALL THE WAY BABY. But in reality most likely I see USC dropping game, and I definitely see LSU taking that number one spot. The Big East will be tough with WVU, Rutgers, Louisville. Don't sleep on Wisconsin, they've had solid squads and may upset Michigan (clear favorite to win the Big 10).

You must really be looking to get outta Hawaii coming all the way to Rutgers. Welcome to Jersey!

rutgers ftw

U-C-L-A Fight, Fight, Fight! Twenty three starters returning :)

i hope that was sarcasm. there are only 11 players on each side of the ball so 22 total. Unless you're counting the kicker....?

i really don't think ucla is going to produce much results this year. They'll kick a few weak asses in the pac 10 but overall they'll be shut down by the stronger teams as usual.

;-)

Doesn't "starting" really just mean first on the depth chart at that position? There may only be 11 guys on the field at a time, but there are some positions that wouldn't necessarily be on the field at the same time (like a punter would fill in for a QB on 4th down, or maybe using a heavier fullback instead of a running back on a short yardage play).

But UCLA lost Medlock so a kicker is out of the question. Either way, not matter how good that defense is getting hyped up to be, the offense is going to hold them back.

Nothing worse of a repeat. The QB is back and the receiving corps can't be worse than last year.

Go Bruins!!!

"Nothing worse of a repeat. The QB is back and the receiving corps can't be worse than last year."

Which QB is that going to be, Olson or Cowan (sp)? That Qb situation confuses me.

^ Wasn't Cowan injured? Karl Dorell's future depends on Bruins having a strong season.

I hope Hawaii can bust the BCS, although there is a high probablility TCU will (plus they will probably beat Texas).

It is very early, but realize that if Cal loses only to USC, it has shot at the Rose Bowl...Hawaii breaking into BCS would be a disaster. I'm all for TCU beating Texas (LOL)...Texas snubbed Cal out of the Rose Bowl in 2005.

^ Why would Hawaii busting the BCS be a disaster. Boise States miracle run last year was great, and showed that the BCS is a flawed system.

I can just see a whole bunch of teams at the end of the season being 11-1. The BCS is flawed. I clarify that it would be a disaster if Hawaii got into the Rose Bowl over a traditional Pac-10/Big 10 school. But that's the system we have...it's not fair.

Boise State's Fiesta Bowl win was a great classic.
