College Football Discussion 07

O' Here's to Wake Forest
A glass of the finest
Red ruby rhenish filled up to the brim
Their sons they are many
Unrivaled by any
Who's hearts overflowing we will sing a hymn
Rah, Rah, Wake Forest, Rah
Old Alma Mater sons are we
We'll herald the story and die for her glory
Old Gold and Black is ever waving high.
Go Deacs!

Its the year of the badger baby

Chris "Beanie" Wells is a heisman sleeper.

Boise State and OU was one of my favorite games ever. I watched it live. Classic. Rutgers vs. Louisville was better for me though. It brought a sense of pride to Jersey.

oops I meant 23 scholarship seniors lol.

Yeah, the Boise Stte- OU gm was amazing! It was also pretty kool that the RB got the chance to ask his gf to marry him on live tv.

Can't wait to get back to the Rose Bowl. West Virginia is going to be fun to watch

This in under CC's hot topic. Im honored I created it.

College ball starts tonight! 7pm. I'll be watching my rutgers.

Rutgers is up 7-0 at the moment

21-0 Rutgers. Yeah!

Damn LSU tore MSU a new one. Can't wait for next weeks game!

LOL...Boise State ahead 56 to 7 at end of 3rd.

Rutgers won 38-3

Mike Teel- 16/23 for 328 yards and 2 TDs
Ray Rice- 25 carries for 184 yards and 3 TDs
Tiquan Underwood-10 receptions for 248 yards and 2 TDs

Good night

^^against buffalo. seriously theres only two games worth even watching this week. FSU v Clemson and Cal v Tenn. everything else is powerhouses v crappy schools that are so pathetic that they take beatdowns for money.

Hey I'm just rootin my for my team. I know Buffalo is a terrible team but still. I'm pickin FSU and Cal to win those games, although they could go either way.

of course. i didnt mean anything by it. just frustrated that the opening of the season is mired in blowouts and meaningless garbage.

Cal is going to get rocked by Tennessee again. People seem to be underestimating SEC Speed. I wonder if Eric Berry will see some PT.

to whoever said rutgers is not going to be as good this year: Not true. They get ray rice back, and he is the real deal. The team is only getting BETTER. 3 tds tonight.

Rutger's only problem is their schedule which is so easy, that they may not be prepared for their games against wvu and l'ville. Also, all they need to do is lose once (outside of lville and wvu), and they are out of the top 25 for good.

There's no reason that rutgers never could be a powerhouse (in football or basketball). Only big state school in nj, and nj puts out alot of good recruits, just rutgers never gets them.

Oh, please. Even Tennessee fans (the reasonable ones, at least) don't predict that sort of result. Reasons.
1: Tennessee is missing their top RB, losing their AA set of WRs, playing a hurt QB, losing home-field advantage, etc etc.
2: Cal is playing without significant injuries. Last year, we lost senior CB Mixon (whose replacement, a true freshman with a cast on, got repeatedly torched for huge yardage) and TE Stevens.
3: Situation is entirely different. Last year, it was Longshore's first real game in an incredibly hostile environment against a very talented team. This year, Nate's returning to Memorial Stadium after a successful year.
4. Cal's play at Neyland last year was unusually bad. Pretty much everyone agrees that last year's Bears were not a team that would normally go down 35-0 to Tenn. Assuming both teams play decent football, it's going to be much closer, not one team being "rocked" by the other.
5. Of course Eric Berry's getting time. He's supposed to be the most consistent player in the Volunteer's secondary in training camp. Good as he is, I still think Cal's aerial game will do well--Longshore's as solid as ever, and Cal has one of the top three receiving corps in the nation.
6. Speed? DeSean Jackson? Jahvid Best? The latter, if you don't know, is an incoming freshman who won the California 200m and 400m races, whose high school times would have placed him 4th in the NCAA meet. I don't think we're really lacking in terms of speed.

No one's underestimating the SEC. It's the Pac-10 that loses a lot of unnecessary respect. But whatever.
I'm just going to say that you're wrong that Cal's going to "get rocked" again.

Ok, so they probably won't get "rocked" in the form of last years beat down, but Tennessee is still going to win, they still return Erik Ainge (although his thumb injury is a concern) who has one more year under David Cutcliffe. Of course, DeSean Jackson is a damn good football player and he is one of the few players that concerns me on your squad, this kid is going to be something special. Look, I know I came off as an ass with my comment about "getting rocked," but I must say, it was probably influenced by all my Cal friends talking about how Cal is going to get revenge on the Vols this season. And "get rocked" doesn't necessarily mean getting blown out, more of getting rocked in terms of being out played physically, as most SEC teams will do to you.

btw, unlike most Cal fans I talk to, you seem pretty knowledgable about your team, how is Alex Lagemann doing in camp so far? That guy made our team his ***** in High School the past few years.

Is this the same Tenn. speed that ended up losing to a "slow" Penn St. team last year in a bowl?

Btw, the Pac-10 is no slouch in the speed dept. either.

MSU got killed by LSU. that was a horrible game for MSU.

i can't wait for the Clemson vs. FSU game. Clemson is so going to kick ass.
