College Freshman currently, applied for trans. waiting on final transcripts.

Hey,

I recently applied to transfer to Georgia Tech as an entering sophmore for fall 2007. They basically responded and will not make a decision untill I complete physics w/calc, calculus 2 and english 2. I am currently taking them, along with 2 other classes (17 credits). I had a 4.0 last semester with 15 credits (14 are transferable). All my credits this semester are transferable and are gen eds/pre reqs for my major.

I am just wondering what you think my chances are for admission. I really would like to go here. I am taking currently,

physics w/calc
Physics lab
calc 2
english 2
political science (for GTs gen ed requirement)
micro economics.

I should have an A in physics, government and economics. Ill get no lower than a B (prolly an A) in calculus 2, and probably an A in english.

Last semester I took:
calc 1 - A
Chemistry for engineers - A
English 1 - A
intro to sociology (gen ed) - A
intro to engineering - A.

My highschool gpa is around a 3.2 (weighted) from a private school. I went to 3 different highschools in 3 states within 2 years which had some effect on my grades, although im sure GT wont consider that.

My Math SAT was a 680, English 580, Writing 600.

I have applied to GT during highschool, but did not get in either.

On the transfer application, there was no place to put down current jobs or activities unfortunatly.

I am wondering what the chances are for acceptance. At the lowest ill have a 3.8 college GPA, expected probably a 3.9 or 4.0. Thanks.

I ask the admissions person, she said tech does not care about SAT and hs GPA for high school transferrs. you need 25-30 credits and a 3.0 GPA to be considered. however depending on the major you do need to have calc 1+2 english 1+2 and about two to three other required classes. check that out on their website. I think you are into tech

Cool, thank you. Ill be transfering into their engineering program, and I am very sure all of my classes will count towards either General Education requirements or pre-requirements for my majors classes (calc etc...).

i applied and I got denied so i am in the same boat with you. I think if i can get a 3.7 and above I can get in easy.
p.s. what engineering are you going to

also i hope to tranfer for spring of my sophmore year 2008

Im going into aerospace eng.
