College Interview Question

So I wanted to sign up for a USC interview. Since I live in Southern California, it makes sense that I go on campus for an interview.

However, I am the only person in the family that can drive right now, and my parents refuse to let me drive there, with them or by myself, for safety reasons. The other option is to shell money for a taxi.

I feel like interviews give you an edge, but is there any way to tell them I can’t go because of XXX so they can understand that it is not my lack of interest that has caused this? .

Well, I guess here’s another question. Just looked on USC’s website, says that they don’t consider interview or interest in admissions. What is the point of interviews for USC? Is it different if you apply during the December 1 scholarship deadline?

If they say they don’t consider demonstrated inters or interviews in admissions, you can believe them. They have no incentive to mislead you. Save your time and money for interviewing at schools where it matters.

have you tried to ask for a skype or off campus interview? I am an international student so that is how I am interviewing for my colleges (not applying to USC though)

@“N’s Mom”
Do you know the general point of interviewing if it isn’t considered?

Some people might interview as a way to get more information about the school.

USC has no reason to lie about not counting demonstrated interest/interviews so believe what they say.

Oh I see then. Thanks for the info.
