College is so fake. Everyone makes themselves out to be partyers when they're not.

College is so fake. Everyone makes themselves out to be partyers when they're not. This is one of the many reasons why I think college is so phony. There are a lot of people in high school who never partied or drank -- but now -- as they are in college, they make themselves out to be drinkers and partyers. God, college is so fake.

I thought JD Salinger was dead.

Maybe because alcohol consumption becomes legal while in college. Or even if you’re not 21, you have friends who are.

lol his post reminded my of holden caulfield too… + 100 internets for you :)

Watch it OP, that’s a pretty broad and untrue brush you’re painting with there.

^

But anyways, you have to think about reasoning. For many people, experimenting is part of life. But where does that occur? For some, High school, for others, in College. If anything, high schoolers are more “fake”.

I think there are a lot of bona fide party people in college. There isn’t anything fake about doing a keg stand. You’re just a loser.

Hey there Holden, glad you saw through it. But you should deal with it. People are busy “reinventing” themselves. Find people you like, and go along to the parties anyway to meet people.

whoaaaaaa parties are so dope bro!

I noticed that people who weren’t party goers in high school are now party goers in college. A combination of increased peer pressure and no parents present creates this atmosphere.

Phonies! Got to kill the phonies!

Well, people really do party and drink. Nothing fake about that.

What’s fake is that everyone brags about how much they LIKE to party. When clearly, they’re just going along with the crowd.

The op is the kid who started the “how are these girls roaming my dorm! shouldn’t they be studying or something!” even though he was only 3 or so days into the semester.

In other words, it seems like the op is a completely unsocial ■■■■■.

I’m really not following your argument. How on earth do you know that they’re not partiers? Since when was it a crime to start partying in college rather than in high school?
(For the record, I started “partying” in high school, not college.

Or… maybe they’re just trying something new.

And maybe some find they like it.

Wow… what a concept.

^^^Yup. Or they were unpopular in high school and as such never got invited to parties (e.g. myself).

com’on!! The majority of college students don’t drink/party and I am sure of that.

^ At CalTech, probably not. But just go to a state university on a Thursday night. You’d be surprised.

Yeah, welcome to state university where almost everyone drinks, even the nerds who want to fit in and/or drown out their sorrows after a week of chem labs and orgo tests.

Actually at my school last night it was pretty good! The drunk kids were nowhere in sight around 10 last night while I waited for bus. Even the waves of them coming off the bus from the football game. And no obnoxious drunk kids on the packed bus I took last night to get to my dorm. No obnoxious rendition of “happy birthday”. Goodness! It was a good night ^__^

The weekend basically starts on Thursday here. I’ve learned that the hard way. :/

We need to have a CC party. We would drink ros
