Do you get lettermans in college for playing a sport?!

Not that i am aware of

No. But if you play for a varsity (i.e. NCAA team) the school will supply you with plenty of clothes to wear.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a “college letterman”, tbh.

^^^David Letterman went to college, and I’m sure several of his relatives did too. :p

^^ Ahahahha. Nice joke.

My older brother got a burnt-orange jacket with the Texas “T” symbol. He signed for the Texas Longhorns football team 7 years ago, and was on the team as a redshirt-freshman. He quit the team a couple weeks after the 2005 National Championship game…but UT still gave him his letterjacket. It’s one of those special jacket they give to varsity athletes…

He left the team to focus on academics…he wanted to do law school, more than just football. My bro graduated from Columbia Law this summer…so I suppose it’s worth it for him.

No your not in high school anymore. I swam for a bit in college and like most of the other athletes you get clothes to work out in/ wear around, bags to carry equipment, water bottles…etc. Not even the football players where I go get a letter jacket.

Some colleges do. Others don’t. I’ve seen athletes wearing such jackets at U of Mich. Here’s a pic of a celebration at Ohio State with a lot of alumni-athletes wearing them: [Jim Tressel Returned to Ohio State, Fans Cheered On in Rapture [Video] | The Big Lead](Jim Tressel Returned to Ohio State, Fans Cheered On in Rapture [Video])

In the movie “Rudy” the Notre Dame players often wore them.
