Has anyone ever participated in MUN? I'm interested in joining at the college level next year in April at UCLA but I don't really understand how it works. Does a professor sponsor you? I saw that there were different committees. So are you basically assigned a committee and a country to debate for?
I currently attend a community college in LA, if that changes anything lol.

My D has been active with MUN since 8th Grade. And she continues to participate in College. This is her 7th year of active involvement. So I will share what I know.

Colleges have MUN Clubs. Basically you join the Club and become a member. The Club will hold weekly meetings. There the announcement for upcoming wokshops and events is made. And then you apply for the ones that interest you. Or if you are keen on participation a committee as well a role/designation is assigned to you. And it goes from there. Sometimes they hold debates on the subject to select candidates and teams - something like an audition.

Since you mentioned UCLA, Take a look at this.
