Recruitment for Model United Nations

I’m in need of some help. I am currently Vice President of my universities MUN club. One large problem that we have been facing is recruitment. We generally pull from the political science and international studies departments but recently have been extending out to different sectors and majors. The feedback we have been getting is slim to none. I think it may be my college culture but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop trying. How do other clubs at other universities do it? Can you lend some tips?

Thanks in advance

Maybe ask the pre-law advisors to suggest this to their advisees?

We happen to have the president of the law club on our executive board but none of them seem to be interested in joining. They’re very into Moot Court.

Did your club attend the activities fair at the beginning of school?
Do students at your college generally participate in MUN in HS?
If so, why aren’t they continuing?
How are you advertising?
Can you talk to professors about ideas? Can professors mention it in class?

Have you googled: how to recruit for MUN in college

There are many good links.

I do, I am a part of the student government that plans the activities fair. From what I have seen in my 3 years, they do not. Many of their schools didn’t offer it like mine did. We do campus-wide postings through student life and student government, as well as talking to international studies and political science classes, and informing other faculty members who are not a part of those departments about the club and class. We have major faculty support within the poli sci department but other than that, not much.
