9. Johns Hopkins
10. NYU
Is my list good?

What do you mean by “good”? The colleges you list are great environments and any economics major will be well equipped. The real hurdle is to *get *into any of these.

If you are good enough for NYU to be a safety, and you are willing to go there, then it’s good. The MOST IMPORTANT part of your list is your safeties. Ten is an alright amount, just notice that your list is a bit top heavy as far as selectivity/rankings are concerned.

Maybe put in something bellow or near the level of NYU. I might suggest BC or Wisconsin or something in-state. But it’s really just find a school that you can get into, afford and like. Economics is a major that all colleges will have. The departmental rankings will not make a huge difference at the undergrad level, except for maybe Chicago.

You’re missing safeties (which need to be safeties from both an admissions and a financial perspective). You should probably include a few more matches, too.

You might want to consider some liberal arts colleges with excellent economics departments. Even if you are quite sure about larger schools, it can help to have some variety when it comes time to make a choice. Middlebury and Amherst, for example. And as someone mentioned, maybe LACs that are more safety-ish. I don’t know about the economics departments, but maybe Trinity, Colby, Colgate.

Like could you give me some suggestions for other schools, I was thinking some LAC but I don’t know…I am not interested in adding anymore ivy league schools though.
