College List

Hey everyone, I am a senior and I really need to make a list of colleges! I want to apply to a mix of universities and LACs. I need reaches, targets and safeties!

White Male from New Hampshire

Testing:
Math- 730
CR- 700
Writing- 700
Math 2 subject test- 730
Spanish- 670

Grades: A-/B+ average at an elite prep school

Senior Year Classes:
AP Chemistry
AP Spanish Lit
AP Lang
AP Psych
AP U.S. History

AP Scores: European History 4, Biology 3
ECs:
Varsity Tennis for four years, Captain of team
Varsity Football for three years
Member of band for four years, section leader
Member of Student Government for four years, am treasurer
100+ hours of community service over four years
Summer job as a lifeguard, 25 hours a week all summer

Some Schools I have already:
Reach: Penn, Amherst, Yale (are Amherst and Yale out of my range?)
Target: Wesleyan (is this a reach?), Tufts, Cornell
Predictable: Trinity College (CT), NYU
Safety: UNH, UConn

I really want some target universities and LACs. Thanks a lot!

Take a look at Colgate and Lehigh if your GPA and class rank is up there.

I’d suggest looking into the Colby and Bucknell and second Colgate. Wesleyan is a low reach, not really a target. Same for Cornell.

Richmond and Gettysburg

Lafayette would make an excellent target, and yes, Wesleyan and Cornell are lower reaches

Rhodes is a good target. LAC in Memphis, TN, which I imagine would be a nice change of scenery for you. Only thing that might be disappointing is that it doesn’t have band. But, it has NCAA D3 athletics meaning you could continue to participate in football, tennis, or swimming at the college level if you wanted to. There are also a lot of opportunities to participate in student government here, from the senate to class councils to honor council and social regulations council.
