College major choice?

I am hoping to be accepted to UF. I have a stellar academic record and great Ecs, so I am not as concerned with admission. However, I'm unsure of which major to choose. Realistically, I know I should choose elementary education because it provides a clear career track. I know that teacher jobs are scarce, however it would allow me have a sense of direction, job-wise. On the other hand, I've always been drawn to zoology. UF is one of the few schools that offers an undergrad zoology major. I really feel I would be happier majoring in this and minoring in another biological science...

Is the risk to great? I know this is an even tougher field to get into than education (which is saying something). I wouldn't want to major in this and regret it later because I have no job opportunities. Advice?

I put Biology down on my application, and have already changed my mind. I have not even started classes yet. Most people I know change their major up to several times while in college the first year.
But you should do what you are interested in…and if you still have an interest in being a teacher…then maybe a professor in Zoology at a big university
