College Major on NMSF application

I already asked about the college which we're leaving as undecided on the NMSF application. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to listing a major or is undecided fine for this also? My S is definitely interested in math, computer science, physics, but could go in other directions, too. Thanks.

There is no disadvantage MominVA. In many ways it is expected.

It probably wouldn't hurt to leave the major as undecided but it certainly won't help. If you list a major that they don't have, well then, your son will be boned. However, if it appears as though your son put some thought and effort into the college hunt and picked schools that fit well with his interests, you may get bonus points.

^oops, I didn't realize until after I typed it that national merit scholars foundation (NMSF) wasn't a school that you were referring to. Ignore my previous comment.

it doesnt matter at all.

the only people who dont advance to finalist standing are people with inconsistent SAT/PSAT scores and total retards.

Okay, excellent--thanks all.
