Or should it be “Penn State-Related University” since posters from Pennsylvania sometimes make the distinction that PSU and other CSHE schools are state-related rather than actual state universities like the PASSHE schools?

In Canada Waterloo Lutheran University changed its name to Wilfred Laurier University when it was secularized. They had no particular affection for Wilfred Laurier, a former Prime Minister, but the school’s initials would stay the same.
Northwestern isn’t really in the Northwestern US…but I do get that at one time that area of the country was considered the “Northwest.” Kind of like how Northwest Airlines was based in the midwest…
