College of chemistry?

Hey, guys.
i applied undergraduate this year , intending to major in chemical engineering. i Just found out 10 seconds ago that chemical engineering is under the college of chemistry instead of college of E. So my ? is= is CC harder to get in than college of letter and science but easier than C of E?
anyone? please…
i am so scared Q_______Q

Where did you hear the ChemEng is part of Chemistry. That doesn't make much sense, they are not at all alike. I'll double check.

Right you are! Regarding relative difficulty probably is no data since I think this is a new development. You should call them and ask if admissions will change.

Good luck. I applied BioE. It still seems to be in Engineering.

i applied to the college of chem too but as a chem major...i think it might be a little easier to get into the college of chem than the engineering school and the college of letters and sciences

cheme is part of the college of chemistry

I'm a Chemical Engineer at Berkeley, and I can shed some light on this situation: difficulty in getting in CoE depends on the major. Somebody rejected from BioE can still be admitted to the CoE under a less competitive major. CoC houses Chemistry, ChemE, and Chemical Biology. It is probably the most elitist of all colleges on campus, on average. Yes, CoE has EECS, which is the most "elite" major on campus, and BioE is the next flashiest, but for some reason the CoC seems to be the most arrogant college on campus. It is harder to get into the CoC than L&S, mainly because you have to be damn good at Chem to survive, and because only BS degrees, not BA, are given. As far as undergraduate courses go, the Chem 4 series is one of the most flashy, because of its difficulty, and you are constantly reminded of being the "smartest" (aka best at chemistry) students in the school. Oh, and the best thing about having a major in the CoC is that it is a very small college, and you will get pampered like a damn baby. No joke. Berkeley treats chemists well, but pushes them hard. That's why we're #1 in the country.

WOW, thanks
