College of the Holy Cross Early Decision Class of 2020

I’m so happy for you all! I can’t wait to meet you!! That includes you @ag1116 - I’m sure you’ll be fine

Does anyone know when the link will be available to accept the ED offer and send in the deposit?

Congrats to everybody!! Just thought I’d share that I never received a phone call but I did get my ED acceptance letter last night! and my link to accept is available online and has been since last night.

Has anyone gotten their FA package yet? Also, congrats @prepschool13!

How long ago did you put your application in? My D has been in for a month, waiting to hear. Are you from New England? Wondering if they mailed all the letters together, we are out of state

@bay2714 - are you referring to the acceptance letter or FA letter? I can only speak for the acceptance letter. My d got that about 2 weeks after the phone call accepting her

Acceptance, @prepschool13 mentioned not receiving a phone call, notified by letter and portal change.

My d submitted the application and about a week after that her school submitted their materials and within 2 weeks of that she got notified.

Me too - I submitted my application and first term grades on a Tuesday and got the call that same Friday. Then, I got my letter two weeks later

Financial aid, anyone? Feeling a little nervous - I called and the FA office told me the letters would be sent out this week, but I haven’t gotten mine yet. Hoping to receive it tomorrow.

I had everything in by November 20th I believe and received my acceptance letter on December 7th. The letter was dated December 3rd and I am from central Massachusetts. I should be receiving my financial aid package by next week.

Got my financial aid package today. Very disappointed. Hoping I can appeal. :frowning:

How far off was it from the NPC?

A little more than $3,000 @wisteria100

Actually, @wisteria100 it’s much more than that - more than $10,000 more. They gave me $8,000 in loans and counted it as an “award.” I’ll have to pay more than $20k a year. I can’t afford it. :frowning:

Got my acceptance email!! I’m ecstatic! @misscatholicgirl I hope you can attend:(. Can you still say no if you applied ED?

Thank you @Ag1116 and congratulations! I can decline the acceptance under ED as the financial aid is not doable for my family. I think I’m going to have to. I’m heartbroken. :frowning:

But if you have no other FA offers yet, how can you be sure that other schools will give more aid? Perhaps you can appeal or work something out with a work study program?

I still have to wait for my financial aid offer to come, don’t be sad, wherever you go I’m sure you will like it there! @misscatholicgirl

I have already been offered work study on the package for $1,800 @wisteria100 so that did not help much; while I’m not sure other schools will provide more aid I know that I cannot afford $20,000 per year in loans. Supposedly, FA does not appeal as stated in their letter.
