I am desperate to attend. Are 4 AP courses as a Junior enough? How hard is to get in? Any advice? Thanks. PLEASE RESPOND!
No one can even begin to guess what your chances are without knowing your GPA (weighted and unweighted), SAT and/or ACT scores, what your cousework has consisted of, ECs, and whether you are in-state or OOS. Admissions are holistic, so even with this info, no one can tell you anything for sure.
Give us the stats, and people may be able to say whether you are in the ball park…and maybe suggest some other schools that you might also like. It’s risky to feel that there is only one school that you could get excited about… Why do you think you like W&M so much?
It will largely depend on how many APs your school offers.
I applied ED and got in
First generation hispanic male
GPA: 3.5
SAT: 1150
In State
what were your EC’s @PHY.
Im sorry but can you please tell me what EC’s mean. Elective courses?? $-)
My strongest advice is (got in this year by the way) to work on that ESSAY!!! I talked to the deans of admission and they told me GPA and SAT are just numbers. Your essay has “you voice in it, make me laugh, cry, etc” I did 4 revisions on my essay that I started my junior year and each revision I did I sat next to multiple different english teachers. Legit made people made people cry with mine.
@PHY., ECs are extracurricular activities. They can be structured (like clubs, teams etc.)or unstructured individual activities/hobbies. Can include paid jobs or volunteer work. Basically, how you spend your time in (hopefully fun) purposeful activity outside of school and studying.
In that case here they are
American Legion Boys State of Virginia, was a delegate representing all of VA
Volunteered at a Nature Center
Cross country, indoor/outdoor track & field for 3 yrs
Young leaders program, summer thing that I did my Summer going into senior yr
National Honor society member
Hosa member, biotech club I did this yr
That’s about it
Hope I see you in a year!!!
