Any info? Do they have any Catholic facilities around there? Hard to get in to? Fun? Too much of a party school? If you are fun but don't want greek life or want to drink to excess is this a good spot to be?

Jmmmom, don't know the answer to any of your specific questions, but I have heard favorable comments from a parent. I know that they are very good with merit aid.

Wooster is Presbyterian, but there's a Catholic church right next to campus. They had over 4,000 applicants this year, which is a lot for them, but they typically are less selective than higher ranked LACs. What's great about Wooster is they take B level high school students and develop them into real scholars.

It's a small school and they do party on on the weekends, but they don't have national fraternities or sororities. They have Clubs and what they call Sections, which are Greek, but are pretty tame relative to the usual Greek scene IMO.

Overall, there's eough variety to have a good social life for those from all walks of life. Definitely worth a serious look.

I have a cousin who goes there, and he seems to like it a lot. Apparently they do a good job with accomidating your interests when it comes to a major.

I was told that Wooster had 4,500 applicants this year and accepted about 2,500--obviously hoping for 550-600 acceptees. (I'm not sure what it's yield rate has been in the past.) If these numbers are close to accurate, that would mean Wooster's acceptance rate dropped from 75-80% in recent years to 55%. ... I have a daughter who attends Wooster and loves it.

Hindoo, I think your daughter would agree that Wooster is not the kind of place you can get a sense of by statistics and rankings. You have to go there and experience it.

Flvadad--Truer words were never spoken!

I know at least 3 people there who adore it. Not sure about your specific questions... but my friend tells me the academics and attention from professors is outstanding.
