College online classes VS. traditional campus classes

Hi. I’m not really sure if I put this discussion in the right forum but I’ll just roll with it. I am almost done with my freshman year of college and I did all of my classes online. I feel like I didn’t excel enough comparing to when I was in highschool… I know the level of difficulty of material between college and highschool is different but I did so much better then comparing to now that I’m doing online classes. I’m thinking of just doing campus classes next fall but I live 40 minutes away from campus and moving closer isn’t really an ideal thing for me since I’m very short on money. But I feel like I could do so much better if I attended campus classes due to the fact that I always end up procrastinating with my online classes. I feel like I don’t learn anything. I think I’m falling into depression because I feel like I have failed myself. I guess I’m just looking for some advice. Should I just suck it up and drive 40 minutes 3-4 days a week or find a better studying technique for online classes? What was your experience with online classes? Thanks so much

Hi there! From the looks of it, we finished our first year of college by now, woohoo! In my opinion, I would prefer going to classes at the campus than online, it brings a better learning environment. It would also depend of how many and what classes you’re planning to take. Also, I wouldn’t tell you to suck it up but I would suggest you find the motivation to drive the 40 minutes 3-4 days a week. I have friends that live an hour away but they explain that they would not have the grades they have now if they took the classes online. I am planning to take an economics online class this fall and i’m excited to see whether or not i’ll like it, I’m thinking of doing my online class somewhere other than my house (like a nearby starbucks or at my college since im taking classes there, too) because i’ll know i wont get anything done if i stay home. Good luck!
