Hey,

I go away over the summer to visit family, but this year I have to schedule everything around college. I'm currently a senior in high school, and I don't know where I'm going to college, but I'd like to know when colleges usually have orientation? Is it in the middle of Summer, or a week before school? Also, is it the end of the world if you have to miss it? (I would have to miss it if it was between late June and late July.)

Thanks

The only one I can speak for is UMich, but they had orientations all through summer. Probably 40+ different orientation sessions.

^ that is the same for my school (UCCS) i think most schools tend to space them out to not have a big rush.

my college had their orientation session right before the semester started in late august. It was mandatory. It depends I guess. I think smaller colleges will have only one, probably right before classes start, while bigger universities seem to tend to space them out throughout the summer.

My school did orientation in the summer (June).

For my school it was the day we moved in. Late august.
But I know some of my friends who went to UMCP had theirs around June I think.

My school had orientations all the way from mid-May til the last weekend before move-in. Look up the specific colleges you have applied to and see when they are–they should probably be up by now or are close to putting them up.
