I was having a discussion with one of my friends and we were looking at one of the us news college rankings and needless to say, USMA wasn't there. Where do you think USMA would be if it was on the rankings?

It depends on what was being ranked. I think for parties it be near the bottom. For academics near the top. For difficulty to get in it would be in the top 5. The other 4 being the other service academies. What most people dont realize even if you have a 4.5 in highschool you could still have something (speech impedement or something) that keeps you out. You also must be physically fit which today isnt very popular among Americans. I think overall it would be in the top 15 (academics, athletics, student body, extra curicular, etc.)

I think princeton review.com has some great information regarding the service academies. They show ratings in the categories of admissions selectivity, quality of academics, etc.. Right now USAFA has the highest selectivity rating of 97 compared to USMA (96) and USNA (96). Remember, the rating is not just based on percentage of applicants accepted.

us news ranked usma second for civil engineering and 3rd for mechanical

usma is also 5 on the list of their students never stop studying. and if you look at the academic rating it is 97, which is the same or higher than all of the ivy league schools. it just depends what list you are looking at i guess.
