College requiring only one recommendation

For colleges that require only one recommendation, should I just send in the better one? Because I'm pretty sure I will have one great recommendation and another recommendation where the teacher might comment on how I should talk more... So will it be better for me just to get the rec from the more favorable teacher?

Ya probably. Some schools might only bother to read one, so it might as well be the better one.

Which schools have only require one teacher rec? I know tufts does, does georgetown?

Is there an online list of colleges that require only one teacher recommendation?

georgetown only requires one, you're right. as for a list, i'd be surprised if there were.

also, does hopkins require only one? Do the ivies all require 2?

mmhm, hopkins only requires one. from what i've seen from friends applying to ivies, they basically all take two or more.

University of Michigan, University of Miami, NYU

There is a list on the Common App sight that lists all (ca) schools and all admission requirements including how many teacher recommendation are needed. Sorry, don't have the link handy.

It's actually a PDF file under downloadable forms.

^can't find it... can anyone supply me with the URL?

Washington U of St Louis only wants one, but they will take more.

UNC-Chapel Hill only requires one rec

but they do take more I think.

Lots of schools only require one rec. You need to find out the exact materials required for each of the schools you are applying to. You could apply to 10 schools and they each want something different.

As for the teacher rec, if you're only sending one, send the better one! :)
